The Mighty

Head of UX

Living with a mental health condition, chronic illness, or rare disease can be isolating. The Mighty started as a publication of first-hand narratives by people living with health conditions and grew into an online health community where people could give and get support.

As Head of UX, I led that shift, shipping The Mighty's first iOS and Android apps and building the design team that got us there.

User Research

With thousands of first-hand stories and daily comments already on The Mighty, desk research was often our fastest way into a community's real needs. I paired that with studies, interviews, and cross-functional design sprints to shape the product roadmap.

Product Design

I led the design team through the complexity of building a new social platform, from social engagement to the trust & safety tools underneath it all. We shipped The Mighty's first iOS and Android apps and redesigned its web platform to tie everything together.

Brand Design

I led brand design across product, marketing, and partnerships, building templates along the way so our team could create content at scale. Our brand aim: create a place where users feel empowered, where their voices come together to be heard.

Event Design

I designed the physical spaces where The Mighty showed up in person including signage, cards, swag, community activities, and digital installations. Each physical touchpoint gave people a way to get closer to our brand in the real world.
